DiversiTech Wire Terminal Ring 16-14 INSULATED#10 STUD50PK

The DiversiTech 6216LX is an insulated ring terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, sized for a #10 stud and supplied in a 50 piece pack.

The closed ring is the defining characteristic and the reason ring terminals are specified where a connection must not release. Because the conductor is captured completely around the stud, the terminal cannot slip out if the screw loosens. That property makes ring terminals mandatory for equipment grounding conductors and strongly preferred for any connection where an undetected disconnection would create a hazard or an intermittent fault that is difficult to trace.

The trade-off is service access. Landing or removing a ring terminal requires the screw to be taken fully out, which is slower than a fork terminal and introduces the risk of dropping hardware into equipment.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor insulation, protecting against incidental contact and providing limited strain relief. Under the standard colour convention, blue identifies the 16-14 gauge range.

The #10 stud size is among the most common in HVAC equipment, appearing at grounding lugs, terminal boards, and component mounting points.

Crimp quality determines the joint. A correctly compressed crimp cold welds barrel to conductor; a crimp made with pliers leaves a high resistance connection that heats and oxidises over time. Use a ratcheting crimp tool and verify with a pull test.
