DiversiTech Wire Terminal Ring 12-10 Insulated. #10 Stud

The DiversiTech 6252LX is an insulated ring terminal for 12 to 10 gauge conductors, sized for a #10 stud.

Ring terminals are the correct choice wherever a connection must remain captive. Because the conductor is enclosed completely around the stud, the terminal cannot release if the screw loosens. That property makes ring terminals mandatory for equipment grounding conductors and strongly preferred for power circuit landings, where an intermittent connection carrying substantial current would arc, heat, and damage surrounding components before anyone identified the cause.

The 12-10 gauge range covers branch circuit and equipment power wiring: disconnect landings, motor and compressor leads, heater circuits, and equipment ground connections. Yellow identifies this range under the standard colour convention.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor jacket, protecting against incidental contact in a populated cabinet and giving limited strain relief at the crimp.

The #10 stud size is among the most common in HVAC equipment, appearing at grounding lugs, terminal boards, and component landings.

Crimp quality governs the joint's long term behaviour. At 12 and 10 gauge, achieving full barrel compression requires a crimp tool with adequate mechanical advantage; a partially compressed crimp leaves a high resistance connection that heats under load and oxidises progressively. Confirm each crimp with a pull test.
