DiversiTech Wire Terminal Compressor. Flag F. 16-14

The DiversiTech 6258CX is a non-insulated compressor flag female quick disconnect terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, designed for connections inside compressor terminal boxes.

Compressor terminal boxes are among the most constrained connection environments in HVAC and refrigeration work. Three fused glass terminals sit close together on the compressor shell, the box itself offers minimal depth, and the location runs hot. A standard straight disconnect requires clearance behind the terminal for the conductor to exit, which frequently does not exist. The flag configuration routes the conductor at ninety degrees to the tab, allowing the connection to be made and the box cover to be replaced without forcing conductors against the terminal plate.

The uninsulated construction is deliberate rather than a cost reduction. Compressor terminal boxes operate at elevated temperature where nylon and vinyl sleeves harden and crack, and the bare barrel permits high temperature heat shrink or terminal boots to be applied instead.

Terminal work at a compressor demands specific caution. Never energise a compressor with the terminal cover removed, and confirm terminal integrity before applying power, since a failed fused terminal can eject under pressure.

The 16-14 gauge range suits smaller compressors, control connections, and crankcase heater circuits.
