DiversiTech Terminal Ring 22-18 6236LX

The DiversiTech 6236LX is an insulated ring terminal for 22 to 18 gauge conductors, providing a captive connection under a screw or stud.

The closed ring cannot release while the screw remains in place, which is why ring terminals are specified for connections that must not become intermittent. On fine control conductors this matters particularly: a low voltage circuit that opens intermittently produces symptoms that appear and disappear, and such faults consume far more diagnostic time than the connection itself is worth. A ring terminal removes that failure mode.

The trade-off is service time, since the screw must be removed entirely to land or lift the conductor.

The 22-18 gauge range covers thermostat wiring, sensor leads, control board conductors, relay and pilot circuits, and other low current signal wiring. Red identifies this range under the standard colour convention.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor jacket, providing limited strain relief. That strain relief is more significant on fine conductors than on heavy ones, because small gauge wire is easily broken at the crimp by repeated flexing during service.

Crimp quality is decisive at these sizes. A barrel that is not fully compressed may hold a light pull yet release under vibration. Use a ratcheting crimp tool with the correct die and pull test each connection.

Applications include control boards, terminal strips, thermostat and sensor wiring, and low voltage equipment landings.
