DiversiTech Terminal Pigtail 22-14 6222LX

The DiversiTech 6222LX is an insulated pigtail terminal for 22 to 14 gauge conductors, providing a factory made lead terminated at one end for splicing into field wiring.

A pigtail terminal supplies a short prepared conductor with a terminal already fitted, allowing a technician to make a connection where the existing conductor is too short, the wrong gauge for the available terminal, or inaccessible for direct crimping. The free end is spliced to the circuit conductor, commonly with a butt splice or wire nut, while the terminated end lands at the component.

The wide 22 to 14 gauge range is the useful characteristic. It spans thermostat and control conductors at the fine end through fan and light power wiring at the heavy end, so a single pigtail style covers most of the low voltage and light line voltage connections encountered in service work.

The insulating sleeve protects the crimp barrel from incidental contact and gives limited strain relief, which is particularly relevant on a pigtail since the splice point is often unsupported in a cabinet.

Applications include control board and thermostat connections, sensor and switch wiring, component replacement where factory leads are too short, and general repair work in HVAC, refrigeration, and appliance service. Support the splice so the joint is not carrying mechanical load, and confirm both the crimp and the splice with a pull test before energising.
