DiversiTech Terminal Pigtail 18 6223LX

The DiversiTech 6223LX is an insulated pigtail terminal for 18 gauge conductors, supplying a prepared lead with a factory fitted terminal for splicing into control and low voltage circuits.

18 gauge is the workhorse size for HVAC control wiring. Thermostat cable, low voltage interconnects between condensing units and air handlers, damper and zone control wiring, and sensor circuits are predominantly 18 gauge, so a pigtail dedicated to that size matches the majority of control connections encountered in the field.

The pigtail format solves a specific and common problem: a conductor that is too short to reach its landing point, or a connection location where a crimp tool physically cannot be positioned. Rather than replacing an entire run, the technician crimps or splices the pigtail's free end to the existing conductor in an accessible location and lands the terminated end at the component.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor jacket, protecting against incidental contact in a populated cabinet and providing limited strain relief. That strain relief matters on a pigtail, where the splice frequently sits unsupported.

Applications include thermostat and low voltage control wiring, zone panel and damper connections, sensor and switch circuits, control board landings, and repair of shortened factory leads in HVAC, refrigeration, and appliance service. Support the splice mechanically and confirm both connections with a pull test.
