DiversiTech Terminal Male 16-14 6219LX

The DiversiTech 6219LX is an insulated male quick disconnect terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, presenting a tab that accepts a mating female disconnect.

Male terminals are fitted where a separable connection is needed and the opposing side of the joint carries a female disconnect. In practice this occurs when adding a component that arrives with female leads, extending a harness while preserving the original connection scheme, or fabricating a serviceable joint in field wiring so that a component can later be changed without cutting conductors.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor insulation. In equipment cabinets where terminals sit near grounded sheet metal and adjacent to one another, that sleeve meaningfully reduces the chance of a short caused by a shifted conductor or a dropped tool, and it provides limited strain relief at the crimp.

The 16-14 gauge range covers control circuits, fan and blower leads, capacitor wiring, and light power connections.

Tab width must match the mating female terminal. The standard .187 and .250 inch widths appear similar and are regularly confused, and a mismatched pair makes loose contact that heats under load and degrades progressively.

Use a ratcheting crimp tool with the correct insulated die and confirm each crimp with a pull test. Applications include HVAC, refrigeration, appliance, and general electrical service wiring.
