The DiversiTech 6203MX is an assorted non-insulated wire terminal kit, supplying a range of uninsulated terminal styles and sizes in a compartmented case for service and maintenance work.

Non-insulated terminals are selected where an insulating sleeve is unwanted or unworkable. High temperature locations degrade nylon and vinyl sleeves, so bare terminals are standard at furnace heat sections, heater elements, and compressor terminal boxes. Bare barrels also accept heat shrink tubing, allowing a technician to apply insulation sized and rated to the specific application rather than accepting the manufacturer's sleeve. In tight terminal boxes, the smaller profile of an uninsulated terminal can be the difference between a connection that fits and one that does not.

The trade-off is exposure. An uninsulated crimp barrel and any protruding conductor strands are live in a powered circuit, so bare terminals require deliberate routing, adequate clearance from grounded metal, and applied insulation where clearance is marginal.
