DiversiTech Terminal Fork 16-14 50-Pack 8 6227LX

The DiversiTech 6227LX is an insulated fork terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, sized for a #8 stud and supplied in a 50 piece pack.

The open fork is what distinguishes this terminal from a ring. Because the fork slides in from the side, the terminal screw need only be loosened rather than removed to land or lift a conductor. On terminal strips with many closely spaced screws, or in a cramped panel where a removed screw is likely to be dropped into equipment, that saves real time on every service visit.

The corresponding limitation is retention. A fork terminal can work free if the screw loosens, which is why forks must not be used on equipment grounding conductors or on any connection where an unnoticed disconnection would create a hazard. Those applications require ring terminals.

The #8 stud size is common on control boards, terminal strips, and smaller equipment landings, and is a size where the time saved by not removing hardware is most apparent.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor jacket and provides limited strain relief. Blue identifies the 16-14 gauge range.

Applications include control panel and terminal strip landings, control board connections, equipment interface wiring, and general HVAC and electrical installation. Use a ratcheting crimp tool with the correct insulated die and confirm each crimp with a pull test.
