DiversiTech Terminal Female 16-14 6233LX

The DiversiTech 6233LX is an insulated female quick disconnect terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, providing a separable push-on connection to a mating male tab.

Female disconnects are the connection type a technician handles most often in HVAC and refrigeration service. They land at contactor coils and line terminals, run and start capacitor studs, transformer taps, limit and pressure switches, defrost controls, and blower motor leads. Their value lies in serviceability: a failed contactor or capacitor is replaced by pulling connections rather than cutting and splicing, which keeps the harness intact through multiple component changes over the equipment's life.

The connection depends on spring pressure in the terminal's formed contact section. That pressure, and the crimp behind it, determine whether the joint runs cool for years or degrades into a burned terminal.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor jacket, reducing the risk of a short in a populated cabinet and providing limited strain relief. Blue identifies the 16-14 gauge range.

Tab width must match the mating terminal. The standard .187 and .250 inch widths are visually similar, and a mismatched pair makes loose contact that heats under load, relaxes the spring temper, and progresses toward failure.
