DiversiTech Service Chemical Spray Adhesive 14 O

The DiversiTech 315-20 is a 14 ounce spray adhesive for bonding insulation, liner, and sheet materials.

Spray adhesives are used in duct work for bonding acoustic and thermal liner into sheet metal duct, attaching insulation, and general bonding of sheet materials.

Liner adhesion matters more than it appears. Duct liner that releases from the sheet metal does not merely lose its acoustic and thermal function. It can lift into the airstream, restrict flow, and in severe cases shed fibres into the distribution system. Liner failures in older systems are a recognised indoor air quality concern.

Coverage requirements are specified by duct construction standards, and adequate adhesive coverage plus mechanical fastening with pins or clips is the normal requirement rather than adhesive alone.

Surface preparation is the usual limiting factor. Sheet metal arrives with mill oil, and adhesive applied over it bonds to the oil rather than the metal.

Ventilation is required during application, and spray adhesives are flammable both as aerosol and until fully cured, so ignition sources must be controlled. In an enclosed duct or a confined plant room this is a genuine hazard rather than a formality.

Overspray travels further than expected and is difficult to remove from finished surfaces.

Confirm the adhesive suits the materials and the temperature range, mask adjacent surfaces, and ensure adequate ventilation.
