DiversiTech Definite Purpose Contactor C350C

The DiversiTech C350C is a three pole definite purpose contactor rated 50 amps with a 208/240 volt coil.

Conductor sizing at a contactor of this rating deserves verification rather than assumption. A 50 amp contactor implies conductors sized for the actual load, and where a contactor is being replaced with a higher rated unit because the original failed repeatedly, the conductors and the branch circuit protection do not automatically become adequate for the larger rating.

The correct sequence is to establish the load from the equipment nameplate, size the conductors and overcurrent protection to the code for that load, and select a contactor rated for it.
