DiversiTech Building Wire 10GA Red 100 22975784

The DiversiTech 22975784 is 10 gauge red building wire supplied in a 100 foot length, intended for branch circuit and equipment wiring in commercial and residential installations.

Wire gauge determines current carrying capacity. Ten gauge copper conductor is rated for 30 amps in most standard installations, making it the common choice for circuits serving larger air conditioning condensing units, electric water heaters, dryer circuits, and equipment subfeeds. Selecting gauge is not discretionary: the conductor must be sized to the minimum circuit ampacity stated on the equipment nameplate and coordinated with the overcurrent protective device.

Colour identification carries meaning in the field. Red is conventionally used as an ungrounded conductor, most often the second hot leg in a 120/240 volt single phase circuit or a phase conductor in three phase work. Consistent colour discipline across an installation lets a subsequent technician identify conductor function without tracing, which reduces both diagnostic time and the risk of a wiring error during service.

The 100 foot length suits individual circuit runs and service work without requiring a full 500 foot spool, which is practical for contractors carrying stock in a service vehicle rather than a supply truck.

Applications include HVAC equipment branch circuits, disconnect switch feeds, panel and subpanel wiring, electric heat circuits, and general commercial and residential power distribution.

Verify the insulation type and temperature rating suit the installation environment and the terminations being made, confirm conductor sizing against nameplate requirements and code ampacity tables, and observe applicable derating for conduit fill and ambient temperature.
