The CRCSL35925 is CRC Sta Lube Thread Lubricant, supplied in an 8 oz brush-top bottle.

A thread lubricant does a job that gets overlooked until a fastener fails. Threads assembled dry generate friction that has two consequences: they gall — steel picking up on steel, stainless especially, so the fastener seizes during assembly and has to be cut out — and they corrupt the torque reading. On a dry fastener, the majority of applied torque is consumed by friction rather than converted into clamp load, and the actual clamping force achieved is both lower than intended and inconsistent between fasteners. Lubricated threads assemble predictably.

The brush-top bottle is the applicator the job requires. Thread lubricant belongs on the threads, deliberately and in a controlled film — a brush in the cap does that without a separate tool and without the overspray of an aerosol going where it is not wanted.

Applications include threaded fasteners, studs, bolts, flange and pipe threads, and general assembly across manufacturing, maintenance, fleet service, and fabrication.

One point deserves emphasis: lubricating a thread changes the torque-to-clamp-load relationship substantially. Where fasteners are torqued to a specification, that specification must be the lubricated value. Applying a dry torque figure to a lubricated fastener over-loads it and can yield or snap it.
