CRC CRC14440 Degreaser 20 oz White Cream Aerosol Water Based 10

The CRC14440 is a water-based degreaser supplied in a 20 oz aerosol with a 15 oz net fill, 1 each with 12 per case. It is a white cream in physical form with a slow evaporation rate, a specific gravity of 0.97, a VOC content of 95, and a pH of 10.

The water-based chemistry is what defines this product and separates it from every solvent degreaser in the range. A water-based formulation is not flammable, which removes the single largest constraint on where a degreaser can be used — near hot work, in confined spaces, around ignition sources. For a fabrication shop, that means a degreaser that does not have to be scheduled around welding operations.

The pH of 10 identifies alkaline rather than solvent cleaning action. Alkaline cleaners work by saponifying grease and oil — chemically converting them into soaps that lift and rinse away — which is a fundamentally different mechanism from dissolving them in a solvent. It is effective on organic soils and considerably gentler on many plastics and elastomers that solvents attack.

The cream physical form is functional: it clings to vertical surfaces and stays where it is applied long enough to work, rather than running off.

The VOC content of 95 is low compared with the solvent products in this range, which matters where regional limits apply.

Applications include equipment and machinery degreasing, engines, shop surfaces, and general maintenance cleaning.
