CRC CRC03086 Penetrating Oil 16 oz Clear/Colorless Aerosol Mineral Oil

The CRC03086 is a food grade penetrating oil supplied in a 16 oz aerosol with an 11 oz net fill, 1 each with 12 per case. It is a clear, colorless mineral oil-base liquid with a flash point of 200 °F.

A food grade penetrant addresses a specific and awkward problem. Seized fasteners occur on food processing equipment exactly as they do everywhere else — but a standard penetrating solvent is not permitted anywhere incidental product contact is possible. Maintenance crews in food plants have historically faced a choice between a compliance breach and a fastener they cannot move. This product removes that choice.

Penetrants work by capillary action. A seized fastener has no visible gap but retains a capillary path through the corrosion binding the threads, and a penetrant is formulated with the low viscosity and surface tension to wick along it, reach the rust actually holding the joint, and break the bond from the inside. Application, dwell, and reapplication is the method — penetrants work on time, not on force.

The mineral oil base is what makes the food grade formulation possible, and the 200 °F flash point places it in a considerably more forgiving class than the solvent-heavy penetrants alongside it in this range.

Applications include seized fasteners, corroded bolts, frozen linkages, pins, and bushings on food and beverage processing equipment, bakeries, bottling and packaging lines, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
