CRC CRC03077 Cleaner 16 oz Clear Aerosol

The CRC03077 is a cleaner in a 16 oz aerosol with a 12 oz net fill, supplied 1 each with 12 per case. It is a clear liquid, classified extremely flammable, with a flash point below 0 °F, a fast evaporation rate, and a VOC content of 70.2.

The sub-zero flash point combined with a fast evaporation rate identifies a flush-type cleaner. Sprayed on, it dissolves and carries away contamination, then evaporates completely, leaving the surface dry with no residue. That behaviour is the requirement for parts that must be reassembled or energised immediately, and for assemblies too tight to wipe — where a residue-leaving cleaner creates a new problem in place of the old one.

The hazard is proportionate to the performance. A liquid with a flash point below 0 °F produces ignitable vapour at every temperature it will ever encounter in storage or use, and that vapour is heavier than air, so it collects in pits, sumps, and low areas rather than dispersing upward. Ignition sources must be removed from the work area — this includes welding, grinding, pilot lights, energised equipment, and static discharge. Ventilation is not optional.

The VOC content of 70.2 is comparatively moderate for a fast-flash solvent, which matters where regional VOC limits apply.
