The white precipitate named in the specification is a deliberate part of the formulation rather than a defect or a settling problem. In lubricant chemistry, a suspended solid additive is what remains on the surface after the carrier solvent has evaporated, leaving a protective and lubricating deposit where a pure oil film would be thinner and more easily displaced.
