The Williams SNPWSBD-13HRC is a 3/8 inch drive deep socket set, 6-point, 13 pieces.

A deep socket set is the second set most people buy, and the reason is studs.

A shallow socket cannot seat on a nut with a bolt protruding through it — it bottoms out on the stud end and contacts the nut only at its edge. Turned like that, it rounds the nut. Suspension components, exhaust manifolds, machinery mounts, pump flanges, and a large fraction of all structural bolting have protruding threads, so this comes up constantly.

Anyone who has tried to remove an exhaust manifold nut with a shallow socket has met it.

The trade is real: a deep socket is a longer tube, so it twists more under torque and it fits under fewer obstructions. Where a shallow socket seats properly, it is the better tool — stiffer, and lower profile.
