Product Highlights
Description
The Williams SNPTCQJXM14A is a torque wrench head, 14 mm, 0.425 inch J shank, 12 point, maximum torque 60 ft-lb.
The interchangeable-head system is worth explaining on its own terms, because the alternative explains why it exists.
A conventional torque wrench has a square drive and takes sockets. That covers most work and it fails wherever a socket cannot go: a fitting in the middle of a tube run, a nut behind a bracket, a flare fitting on a brake line, a connection in a confined space. Sockets are deep and they need a clear end to slide onto.
An interchangeable-head wrench swaps the drive for a head that is whatever shape the job needs — open end, box, flare nut, ratchet, crowfoot — while keeping one calibrated handle. That means torque-controlled tightening in places a socket cannot reach, which is the whole reason aircraft, hydraulic, and instrumentation work uses them.
The cost is the arithmetic. Every head has an offset, and the setting must be corrected for it or the fastener gets more torque than intended. Skip that and the flexibility buys nothing but confident errors.
The 0.425 inch J shank is the small torque class in this range, rated around 60 ft-lb regardless of what wrench it is on.
Twelve points engage every thirty degrees.
