The Williams SNPRFW-20 is a flare nut wrench, 5/8 inch, 7-1/4 inch overall length, industrial black, single end, 12 point, 1-1/32 inch head diameter, 3/8 inch head thickness.

The 12-point pattern on a flare nut wrench is worth explaining, because on any other wrench 12-point would be the wrong choice here.

Twelve points contact nearer the corners of a fastener, which is exactly what rounds soft nuts. Flare nuts are soft. On a combination wrench, this combination would be a mistake.

What makes it correct is the slot. A flare nut wrench is missing a section of its box, and that section has to be aligned with the tube before the wrench can go on. With a 6-point pattern, there would be only six positions in a full turn where the slot lines up with the tube — and a flare nut in a car is somewhere you can barely reach, at an angle you cannot see. Twelve points gives twelve positions, which is what makes the tool usable at all.

So the design is a compromise resolved in favour of access, and the five flats of contact more than make up for the corner loading.

The 3/8 inch head thickness resists spreading.
