Williams SNP9073RCUS Bahco Chrome Adj. Wrench Ergo 12"

The Williams SNP9073RCUS is a Bahco chrome adjustable wrench, Ergo, 12 inch.

Note the brand split: Williams in the brand field, Bahco in the description.

Ergo is Bahco's ergonomic handle programme and it is worth taking seriously rather than dismissing as marketing, because hand tools cause a real and measurable amount of occupational injury.

The mechanism is not dramatic — it is repetition. A handle that forces the wrist out of a neutral position, or that concentrates pressure on a small area of the palm, does no harm on one job. Done four hundred times a day for a decade, it produces the tendon and nerve disorders that end trade careers. Those injuries are cumulative, they are permanent, and nobody notices them starting.

An ergonomic handle spreads the load across the palm and lets the wrist stay straight. That is a design outcome rather than a rubber grip glued on.

At 12 inches this is the general-purpose adjustable — enough leverage for plumbing and machinery, small enough to carry.

The adjustable wrench rules still apply and matter more at this leverage. Set the jaw tight against the flats before pulling; play is what rounds a nut. And pull toward the movable jaw, so the load goes into the fixed jaw rather than through the worm screw.
