Product Highlights
Description
The Williams SNP451 is a Bahco 451 double-edged blade, 2-1/2 inch.
Note that the source says almost nothing — not what it fits, and not what it is made of. Bahco lists the 451 as the replacement blade for its 450, 650, and 665 Ergo scrapers, and describes it as tungsten carbide, convex ground, for removing paint, glue, rust, and varnish from all surfaces. Some distributor listings say carbon steel; verify against Bahco before publishing, because it is the specification the product is bought for.
Carbide is what makes a scraper blade worth replacing rather than sharpening. A steel scraper blade dulls within a few square feet of paint and needs re-edging constantly — anyone who has stripped a window frame has spent more time sharpening than scraping. Bahco claims the carbide blade lasts roughly a hundred times longer. Whether the multiple is exact, the category difference is real: carbide holds an edge through abrasive work that rounds steel off immediately.
Double-edged means the blade is reversed when the first edge finally dulls, which doubles the life again.
Convex ground is worth noting: a curved edge concentrates pressure and lets the blade be steered rather than chattering flat across a surface.
Confirm the scraper model before ordering. Blades are not universal.
