Williams SNP13410A Adjustable Wrench 10" Chrome

The Williams SNP13410A is an adjustable wrench, 10 inch, chrome.

Adjustable wrench sizes are stated by overall length, not by jaw capacity, and that is a distinction that trips people up.

A 10 inch adjustable is ten inches long. Its jaw opens to somewhere around an inch and a quarter, depending on the maker — and the relationship between length and capacity is not something a buyer can infer. The size on the listing tells you how long the handle is, which tells you how much torque it will apply and whether it will fit in a bag. It does not tell you the largest nut it will take.

Verify the jaw capacity against the requirement rather than assuming. This data does not state it.

That said, the two figures are related for a reason. A wrench's length is roughly the leverage appropriate to the fasteners its jaw can reach — a longer wrench opens wider because bigger fasteners need more torque. The design is coherent.

At 10 inches this is the general-purpose size: enough leverage for most plumbing and machinery, small enough to carry.

Two rules. Set the jaw tight against the flats — slop is what rounds a nut. And pull toward the movable jaw, so the load goes into the fixed jaw rather than through the worm screw.
