Hi-Vis Red is the specification and it points at a discipline rather than a preference: tool control.

In aviation, aerospace, turbine, pharmaceutical, and food operations, a tool left behind is a serious event. A wrench inside an engine, a duct, a gearbox, or a production line does damage out of all proportion to its value, and aircraft have been lost to exactly this.
