Williams SNP1212MRC Combination Wrench 12 mm High-Polish Chrome Rounded 12-Point

The Williams SNP1212MRC is a combination wrench, 12 mm opening, rounded open end, 12-point box end, 6-13/16 inch overall length, high-polish chrome, standard head.

Twelve-point versus six-point is the choice that defines a wrench, and it is a real trade rather than a marketing tier.

A 12-point box engages the fastener every thirty degrees. A 6-point engages every sixty. In a confined space — and most fasteners are in confined spaces — that difference is whether the wrench can be repositioned at all. A 12-point wrench works where a 6-point simply will not fit back on.

What 6-point buys is contact. Its walls bear on the flats of the fastener across a wide area. A 12-point contacts nearer the corners, and corners are what round off. On a tight, rusted, or high-torque fastener, a 12-point wrench is the one that strips it.

So the rule is honest: 12-point for access and speed on fasteners that will move, 6-point for anything seized or heavily torqued.

The rounded open end shifts contact toward the flats and away from the corners, which is the same problem addressed at the other end of the tool.

High-polish chrome resists corrosion and wipes clean — a chromed wrench does not carry grease into a clean job.
