Williams SNP1-110-10-2-0 Bahco Flat File 10" Second Cut 30 TPI

The Williams SNP1-110-10-2-0 is a Bahco flat file, 10 inch, second cut, 30 TPI.

Note a brand inconsistency: the brand field reads Williams and the description reads Bahco. Both are Snap-on brands and the part number is a Bahco reference. Two more files in this range have the same split. Decide which brand the storefront carries and apply it consistently — a customer filtering by brand will find half the range.

The 30 TPI figure is the more interesting note, because it is a different system from everything else in this catalogue.

American pattern files are graded by name: bastard, second cut, smooth. That naming is relative — a bastard cut on a 14 inch file is coarser than a bastard cut on a 6 inch file, because the grades scale with the tool. It works, and it is imprecise.

Bahco, being European, states teeth per inch. Thirty TPI is an actual number, and it means the same thing on any file. That is a genuinely more useful specification, and it is why a listing carrying both — second cut and 30 TPI — is more informative than either alone.

Flat files are double cut on the faces, single cut on the edges.

Second cut is the middle grade: working removal, acceptable surface.
