Victor VCT0330-0199 Cutting Tip 101-30 1 Acetylene 3/4 Inch

The Victor VCT0330-0199 is a 101-30 cutting tip, size 1, acetylene, 3/4 inch cutting capacity.

The 101-30 designation is worth flagging as something to verify: it is a variant of the 101 series, and this catalogue does not say what the variant is. Victor's tip nomenclature uses suffixes for genuine differences — angle, application, or a special orifice arrangement — and a customer cannot substitute a 101-30 for a 101 without knowing.

Note also that no material is stated here, where the other 101 tips in this range specify brass or copper.

Both need obtaining before publishing. Tip series and variant determine torch compatibility, and a tip that does not seat correctly leaks — which on an oxy-fuel torch is a fire.

The size 1 rating at 3/4 inch matches the standard 101 size 1 in this catalogue, which is at least consistent.

The process rule that governs tip choice: oxy-fuel burns the steel rather than melting it. Preheat flames bring the metal to ignition temperature, then an oxygen jet oxidises the iron exothermically. The tip's centre orifice is sized to the plate thickness — too small and it will not sever, too large and the kerf is wide and dross-laden.

Acetylene: never above 15 psi.
