Gentec GTC143CA Cutting Attachment Heavy Duty Tube Mix 121143001

The Gentec GTC143CA is a heavy duty cutting attachment, tube mix (CA2460), model number 121143001.

A cutting attachment converts an oxy-fuel welding torch handle into a cutting torch. The handle stays; the attachment supplies the cutting head, the preheat mixture, and the cutting oxygen lever. That modularity is the point — one handle serves welding, heating, and cutting duty by changing the attachment, rather than a shop buying three complete torches.

Tube mix is the specification worth understanding. It describes where the oxygen and fuel gas actually combine. In a tube mix design the gases mix within the attachment's tube, well back from the tip, rather than at the tip itself. The practical significance is safety and consistency: mixing back from the heat source reduces the risk of the flame propagating back up into the torch, and it delivers a well-mixed, stable preheat flame at the tip.

The heavy duty designation places this above a light-duty attachment, meaning thicker material and sustained cutting rather than occasional light work.

Note both identifiers: the catalog reference is CA2460 and the manufacturer's model number is 121143001. Confirm the attachment matches your torch handle before ordering — cutting attachments are not universal across brands or series.

Applications include structural steel fabrication, plate cutting, demolition and salvage, shipyards, and heavy maintenance.

Users include welders, burners, and fabricators.
