The Gentec GTCCK-5SP is a hose repair kit with "A" and "B" fittings.

Oxy-fuel hose gets damaged. It is dragged across steel, run over, scorched by spatter, kinked, and crushed — and a damaged hose is not something to work around. A leak in a fuel gas hose is a leak of a flammable gas into a space where an open flame is the entire point of the operation, and an oxygen leak enriches the atmosphere, which makes everything nearby dramatically more flammable. Neither is a fault to defer.

A repair kit lets a damaged section be cut out and the hose rejoined properly with the correct fittings, rather than being taped, discarded, or worked around.

The "A" and "B" designation refers to the two standard fitting sizes in oxy-fuel service, and the kit supplying both is what makes it useful — a shop with mixed hose does not have to know which it needs before buying.

One point that matters on every oxy-fuel fitting: fuel gas connections use left-hand threads and oxygen connections use right-hand threads, and fuel gas nuts are notched. That convention exists specifically so that a fuel fitting physically cannot be connected to an oxygen line. Respect it and never force a connection.

Leak test every repair with a proper leak detection solution before returning the hose to service. Never use anything containing oil on oxygen equipment.
