The Victor VCT0330-0109 is a 118 cutting tip, size 0, acetylene, brass, 3/8 inch cutting capacity.

The 118 series is the specification and the difference from the 101 series in the same range is the thing to get right.

Victor's cutting tips are series-specific to the torch. A 101 tip fits one family and a 118 fits another, and they are not interchangeable — the seat geometry differs. That matters more than a fitment inconvenience: a tip that does not seat perfectly in its torch head leaks, and a leaking oxy-fuel joint at the business end of a torch is a fire.

So the series is verified before the size, always.

Note also that the capacity differs from the equivalent 101: this size 0 in the 118 series is rated 3/8 inch, where the 101 size 0 is rated 1/2. Same nominal size, different series, different capacity. That is a real difference and it is why series and size have to be read together rather than the size alone.

Oxy-fuel cutting burns the steel rather than melting it. Preheat flames raise the metal to ignition temperature, and an oxygen jet oxidises the iron — exothermically, so the plate supplies much of its own heat.
