The Victor VCT0323-0122 is a W series welding nozzle, for acetylene and hydrogen, general purpose welding and preheating, tip size 3, one piece.

Tip size is the specification and choosing it is the whole skill, so it is worth stating what the number actually controls.

The tip's orifice determines gas flow, and gas flow determines heat delivered per minute. That is matched to material thickness — and the match matters more than people expect, because the failure mode is counterintuitive.

An undersized tip on thick material does not weld slowly. It frequently does not weld at all. Steel conducts heat away from the joint, and if the metal carries heat away faster than the flame delivers it, the puddle never forms. The operator waits, the plate gets warm, and nothing happens. The instinct is to wait longer. The correct response is a bigger tip.

An oversized tip on thin material blows holes in it.

So the tip follows the plate, and a welder carries a range for the same reason they carry a range of filler.

Acetylene's rule is absolute: never above 15 psi. Above that the gas decomposes explosively with no oxygen involved, which is why regulators are red-lined at 15.

One piece means mixing occurs in the nozzle.
