The ARCAIR AIR4304-9005 supplies SLICE exothermic cutting rods in an uncoated 1/4" x 44" size, packaged 25 pieces.

Exothermic cutting is a different process from anything in a welding shop's normal toolkit. The rod itself is the fuel: once ignited, it burns in a stream of oxygen fed through its core, sustaining a reaction hot enough to melt and expel effectively any material it is put against. There is no arc to maintain and no requirement that the workpiece be conductive or oxidisable — which is why exothermic rods cut cast iron, stainless, aluminium, concrete, brick, and slag-clogged tap holes that oxy-fuel and plasma cannot handle.

That capability is why SLICE rods are the standard tool in emergency services and demolition. A rescue crew cutting through a hardened lock, a vehicle structure, or reinforced concrete needs a process that does not care what the material is.

These rods are uncoated. Uncoated rods are the specification for use where the operator's setup and the application do not require the additional insulation a coated rod provides.

At 1/4" x 44", the diameter suits controlled, precise cutting and the length gives useful reach and burn time per rod.
