The Tweco TWE1260-1627 is an EL22CT nozzle, 5/8 inch tip bore, 3.183 inch tip length.

Note that the source does not state the tip recess, where the comparable nozzles in this range do. Recess is the specification that determines gas coverage and access — it is worth having. Obtain it.

The EL designation denotes Tweco's extended-length series, and the 3.183 inch length is the reason to buy one.

An extended nozzle puts more nozzle between the arc and the atmosphere, which extends the shielding column further over the puddle. That is what heavy, high-amperage welding needs: a large hot puddle stays molten longer, and it needs shielding for all of that time. A short nozzle lets the trailing edge of the puddle see air, and air in a solidifying weld is porosity.

It also keeps the tip and the diffuser further from the arc's heat.

The trade is access. An extended nozzle is a longer object and it fouls in corners and confined joints. The short nozzles in this range exist for exactly that.

The CT designation is thread-on: the nozzle screws onto the diffuser rather than slipping over it, which gives better electrical and thermal contact at high duty cycle.
