TurboTorch TBT0386-1069 Replaceable Tip End 5T Brass

The TurboTorch TBT0386-1069 is a replaceable tip end, 5T size, brass.

Replaceable tip end is the designation and it points at a sensible piece of design: the part that wears is separable from the part that does not.

A torch tip assembly has a body — the swirl chamber and the mounting — and an end where the flame actually burns. The end is the part that erodes. It sits in the combustion zone, it takes the heat, it gets touched against work, it gets dropped, and the orifice eventually opens up or blocks. The body behind it is fine.

Replacing only the end means a cheaper consumable and less waste, which is the entire argument.

The symptom of a worn tip end is worth knowing, because people tolerate it far too long: the flame becomes unstable. It hunts, it will not hold a clean cone, it lifts off or pops. Every one of those is read as a gas supply problem or a regulator problem, and it is usually an eroded orifice.

An unstable flame is also a flashback risk. The orifice geometry is what keeps the mixture leaving faster than the flame can travel back.

The 5T figure is the size, which is a heat rating matched to the mass of the joint.

Verify the torch and gas before ordering.
