Stanley STN33-716 Fatmax Tape Rule W/Bladearmor Coating 1-1/4" X 16'

The Stanley STN33-716 is a FatMax tape rule with BladeArmor coating, 1-1/4 inch x 16 ft.

Note the estimated ship date of 7-10 days embedded in the source description. That is inventory data in a content field and it belongs in a lead time field, where it can be updated without touching the copy.

BladeArmor is the specification and it is a targeted coating rather than a blanket one, which is the interesting part.

Tape blades do not wear evenly. They wear at the first few inches — the section that gets pulled out and shoved back a thousand times a day, that drags over concrete and steel, and that takes the impact when the hook slams into the case on retraction. That is where the printing rubs off, and a tape with unreadable first inches is scrap even though the other fifteen feet are perfect.

BladeArmor coats that section. It is not protecting the whole blade because the whole blade is not the problem.

The 1-1/4 inch blade width is the FatMax proposition. Blade width drives standout — how far the tape extends unsupported before buckling — and a 1-1/4 inch blade stands out dramatically further than a 3/4 inch one. That is what lets one person measure a room, or reach across a sheet of ply, without a second pair of hands.

The cost is a case the size of a fist.
