The MCR Safety MCR2003L is a Classic 3-piece PVC/polyester rain suit, 0.35 mm, yellow, large, case quantity 20.

Three-piece is the specification and it is what separates a work rain suit from a raincoat. The three pieces are a jacket, a detachable hood, and bib trousers — and the trousers are the reason the suit exists.

Anyone who has worked outdoors in rain in a jacket alone knows the outcome: water runs down the jacket and soaks the legs, and wet legs mean a wet worker regardless of how good the jacket is. Rain does not fall vertically onto people who are bending, kneeling, and working.

The detachable hood matters as much, because it is what allows the suit to work with a hard hat. A fixed hood fights the hat; a detachable one comes off, or goes over.

PVC over polyester is the construction: a polyester scrim carrying a PVC coating. The scrim is what gives tear strength — unsupported PVC rips at the first snag, and a torn rain suit is not a rain suit.

Yellow is the conventional high-visibility colour for rain gear, which matters because rain is also when visibility is worst.
