Lakeland LDINC070FRC13-XXXL FR Cotton Coverall 3X-Large Navy

The Lakeland LDINC070FRC13-XXXL is an FR cotton coverall, style NC070FRC, in 7.0 oz FR cotton twill with a brass zipper, elastic waist, 7 pockets, adjustable sleeve cuffs, navy, size 3X-Large, 1 per pack.

The brass zipper is a small specification that reveals what this garment is for. Brass is non-sparking. A steel zipper on a flame-resistant coverall would be an ignition source sitting on the chest of someone whose clothing is rated for arc flash and flash fire — which would defeat the point. Everything on an FR garment has to be considered, down to the hardware.

FR cotton is the fabric and the mechanism is worth understanding. This is not cotton with a coating on it; the fibre itself is treated so that it does not sustain combustion. Exposed to flame it chars and self-extinguishes rather than burning and melting. That distinction matters enormously — untreated synthetics melt onto skin, which turns a survivable flash into a catastrophic burn. Ordinary cotton burns.

At 7.0 oz this is a mid-weight fabric — protection with some tolerance for heat and movement.

Important: FR garments carry ratings for specific hazards. Verify the arc rating and flash fire certification against your requirement rather than assuming FR is FR.

Applications include electrical utilities, oil and gas, refineries, and chemical processing.

Launder per the manufacturer's instructions — improper washing degrades FR performance.
