Mars Jard Low Pressure Switch M43952

The Mars M43952 is a Jard low pressure switch for refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Pressure controls fail in ways that are worth recognising, since a failed control can present as a system fault.

The bellows or diaphragm that senses pressure can lose its charge or develop a leak, after which the control no longer responds to pressure at all. Depending on the design, it will fail either open, stopping the equipment permanently, or closed, providing no protection.

The capillary connecting the control to the system can fatigue and fracture, particularly where it has been routed without support and subjected to vibration. This releases refrigerant and disables the control.
