Mars High Pressure Switch 400/3 M43333

The Mars M43333 is a high pressure switch with an approximate 400 PSI cut-out.

Condenser condition is the single most common cause of high pressure trips, and the ways a condenser fails to reject heat are worth listing because several are easily missed.

Surface fouling is the obvious one: dirt, dust, cottonwood, grass clippings, and in coastal locations salt deposits, all accumulating on the coil face. Cleaning from the discharge side outward, so debris is pushed back out the way it entered, is the effective method.

Fin damage is less obvious. Flattened or combed-over fins restrict airflow through the affected area, and hail damage or careless handling produces this across large areas.

Internal fouling occurs where the coil has been cleaned repeatedly with aggressive chemicals, or in corrosive environments, and cannot be corrected.

Airflow obstruction outside the coil matters as much: fences, shrubs, stacked material, and adjacent walls all restrict the airflow the condenser needs, and equipment installed with inadequate clearance will run high head pressure permanently.

Recirculation, where discharge air is drawn back into the intake, has the same effect and is common where units are grouped closely.

Applications include commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
