Mars Azure M10858 ECM Blower Motor 1/5-1/2 HP X13 Replacement

The Mars Azure M10858 is a constant-torque ECM blower motor rated 1/5 to 1/2 horsepower, supplied as a direct replacement for X13 style ECM indoor blower motors in furnaces, air handlers, and fan coil units.

X13 is the widely used designation for constant-torque ECM blower motors that accept discrete speed commands on low-voltage inputs, in contrast to variable-speed ECM motors that receive a serial command and continuously modulate to hold a target airflow. The distinction matters when selecting a replacement: an X13 style motor and a variable-speed motor are not interchangeable, because the equipment control expects one interface or the other.

A constant-torque replacement of this type accepts the same discrete tap inputs the original used, which allows it to drop into the existing control wiring without reprogramming the furnace or air handler board.

Speed taps are assigned at installation to reproduce the airflow of the motor being replaced, and airflow should be verified by measurement rather than assumed from the tap selection.
