Klein Tools KLTD213-9NE Lineman's Pliers New England Nose 9-Inch High Leverage

The Klein Tools KLTD213-9NE is a pair of lineman's pliers with New England nose, 9 inch, side cutting, high leverage, with plastic dipped dark blue handles, 1.91 inch (4.9 cm) jaw length, 0.62 inch (1.6 cm) jaw thickness, and 1.25 inch (3.2 cm) jaw width.

The New England nose is a real regional pattern, not a marketing name, and it matters to the people who use it. Lineman's pliers come in distinct head geometries that developed regionally — New England, Western, and others — and they differ in nose profile and proportion. Electricians trained on one find another awkward, because the tool is used by feel while looking at the work rather than the hand. It is genuinely worth ordering the pattern your customers use.

High leverage is the specification that does the work. The pivot is positioned to multiply the force at the jaws, which is what lets a 9 inch plier cut and twist conductors that would otherwise need a longer tool. Twisting solid conductors together takes real force, and leverage is what supplies it without a longer handle.

The 0.62 inch jaw thickness is substantial — that is what resists spreading under load.

One point that belongs on every plier sold to electricians: plastic dipped handles are grip, not insulation. Live work requires tools rated and tested for it.

Applications include electrical installation, utilities, and industrial maintenance.
