The Irwin IRW502L3 is a Vise-Grip 10WR original curved jaw locking plier with wire cutter, 10 inch / 250 mm, carded.

The curved jaw is the classic Vise-Grip geometry and it is the reason the tool works on round stock. Straight jaws contact a pipe or a bolt at two points; curved jaws wrap around it and contact at more, which is what lets the tool grip a rounded-off fastener, a pipe, or a broken stud hard enough to turn it. That is the job Vise-Grips are famous for and it is a genuine capability — a rounded bolt head with nothing left for a wrench is a problem this tool solves.

The over-centre locking mechanism is set once by the adjusting screw and then applies the same clamping force every time, holding without being held.

The wire cutter behind the jaws is a secondary feature and worth using with judgement — it is there for convenience, not as a substitute for a proper cutter.

One honest note: the grip that makes this tool useful comes from teeth digging in, so it marks and deforms whatever it holds. That is acceptable on something being removed and destroyed, not on something being reused.
