HD Grant 24X24 Perforated Return PPDDR182424TB

The HD Grant PPDDR182424TB is a 24 by 24 inch perforated return air grille with an 18 inch round duct collar, the largest collar in this range for the standard ceiling module.

An 18 inch collar in a 24 by 24 inch face represents the maximum practical return capacity from a single grid module. It is specified where return airflow is high and ceiling positions are few: large open floors, assembly spaces, high occupancy areas, and retrofits where the existing ceiling layout cannot accommodate additional returns.

The design tension at this size is worth stating plainly. The collar can deliver more air than the perforated face can pass at acceptable velocity. Free area on a perforated plate is a fraction of the gross face area, and once airflow exceeds what that free area passes quietly, the grille becomes an audible source regardless of how large the duct connection is. Where the design airflow exceeds the face capacity, the correct answer is an additional return position rather than a larger collar.

Verify the manufacturer's free area and noise criteria data against the actual design airflow before committing to a single large return.

Applications include commercial offices, retail, assembly spaces, education, and healthcare facilities with suspended ceilings. Confirm the ceiling grid module and the connecting duct diameter.
