The Hart & Cooley 43379 is a 672 series return air grille measuring 30 by 20 inches nominal, finished in white steel.

This is a large return grille, sized to carry a high airflow as a primary return on a substantial residential system or in light commercial work.

At this size the opening behind the grille becomes a significant element of the building fabric, and the transition from the opening to the return duct deserves attention. A large grille feeding a much smaller duct achieves nothing beyond a tidy appearance: the duct, not the grille, determines how much air the return can carry. This mismatch is common in retrofits where a larger grille is fitted to address a noise complaint without the duct behind it being altered. The noise at the grille improves, because face velocity has fallen, while the system's airflow problem remains entirely unchanged.
