Guardair GUA75LJ006AA Long John With 6" Alum Ext & Alloy Nozzle

The Guardair GUA75LJ006AA is a Long John safety air gun with a 6 inch aluminium extension and an alloy nozzle.

The extension is the point of the Long John series, and the length is the whole specification. At 6 inches this is the shortest in the range — enough to reach past a hand and into a fixture, chuck, or the immediate area around a part, without turning the gun into an unwieldy wand. It is the choice for bench work and machines where the target is close but not quite reachable with a bare gun.

The reason extensions exist is that the alternative is putting your hand where the chips are. Blowing swarf out of a fixture or a machined bore means getting the nozzle to the chips, and a short gun means a hand in among sharp material still hot from cutting.

The safety designation is a regulatory specification rather than a description. OSHA restricts compressed air used for cleaning to below 30 psi dead-end pressure — the hazard being air injection through skin, which causes serious internal injury. A safety gun's relief ports bleed pressure when the tip is blocked, so it cannot dead-end at line pressure. An ordinary blow gun can. Chip guarding and PPE remain required alongside the pressure limit.

Aluminium keeps the extension light; the alloy nozzle resists wear.
