The DiversiTech 623-008 is a 50-pack of winged blue twist-on wire connectors, supplied for control and light branch circuit splices.

Blue connectors generally cover a smaller conductor gauge and count range than red, suiting control wiring, sensor circuits, and lighter power connections. Selecting the correct size range is the single most important factor in splice reliability: a connector too large for the conductors cannot compress them into firm contact, producing a joint that pulls apart or makes intermittent contact under vibration.

Intermittent control connections are a disproportionate source of difficult service calls. A splice that opens only when the equipment vibrates, or only at certain temperatures, produces symptoms that appear and disappear, and technicians can spend considerable time chasing a fault that tests fine whenever they measure it. Making control splices correctly at installation avoids that entirely.
