DiversiTech Wire Connector Compressor Leads 3-Pack

The DiversiTech CC33 is a 3-pack of compressor lead wires, supplied as replacement connections between the compressor terminals and the equipment electrical circuit.

Compressor leads operate in a demanding position. They terminate directly at the compressor terminal block, which sits on a shell that runs hot in normal operation and is subject to continuous vibration. The combination of heat, vibration, and in outdoor equipment repeated wet and dry cycling degrades lead insulation and terminal connections over time. Cracked insulation, corroded terminals, and loose spade connections at the compressor are common findings on older equipment and a recognized cause of intermittent operation and compressor failure.

A loose or high resistance connection at a compressor terminal is more serious than the equivalent fault elsewhere. Resistance at the terminal generates heat directly at the shell penetration, and terminal overheating is associated with terminal venting, a violent failure mode in which the terminal is expelled from the shell along with hot refrigerant and oil. Maintaining sound compressor connections is a safety matter, not only a reliability one.

Supplying leads in a three-pack matches the three terminals of a typical single phase or three phase compressor, so a full set is replaced together rather than mixing new and aged connections.

Applications include compressor terminal connection and replacement on residential and commercial condensing units, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment.

Verify the terminal size and temperature rating suit the compressor, isolate and lock out power, allow the compressor to cool, and inspect the terminal cover and gasket at the same time.
