DiversiTech Wire Connector Bullet Plug & Rec. 16-14

The DiversiTech 6289LX is a bullet plug and receptacle set sized for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, providing a separable connection between two wires.

Unlike a butt connector, which creates a permanent splice, a bullet connector pair allows the joint to be disconnected and reconnected. This is useful wherever a component must be removed periodically for service, replacement, or seasonal work. Practical HVAC applications include motor and blower lead connections, component pigtails on parts that are routinely swapped, connections at removable panels and access doors, and test points where a circuit must be opened for diagnostics.

The separable connection saves time on repeat service. A motor connected with bullet connectors can be removed and reinstalled without cutting and re-splicing conductors, which both speeds the job and avoids progressively shortening the leads across multiple service events.

Crimp quality matters as much as with any crimp terminal. A properly compressed crimp produces a cold weld between the barrel and conductor strands; an inadequate crimp made with pliers leaves a high resistance joint that heats under load and eventually fails intermittently.

Bullet connectors should be positioned where they will not be pulled apart by vibration or cable movement. Where retention is critical, secure the connection with a cable tie or route it so that tension is not applied to the joint.

Applications include motor and fan lead connections, removable component wiring, control circuit test points, appliance and refrigeration equipment, and general serviceable connections. Match connector size to conductor gauge and use the correct crimping tool.
