The DiversiTech GG-1 Gallo Gun is a carbon dioxide powered tool for clearing blocked condensate drain lines.

Cartridge powered drain clearing tools use a small disposable carbon dioxide cartridge to deliver a rapid pressure pulse into the drain line, dislodging the obstruction.

The appeal over a nitrogen cylinder is portability. A cylinder and regulator are bulky and heavy, and carrying them to an attic air handler or a ceiling mounted unit is awkward. A cartridge tool fits in a service bag.

The trade off is that each cartridge delivers a finite quantity of gas, so a stubborn blockage may consume several, and the cost per attempt is higher than gas from a cylinder.

The same cautions apply as with any pressurised clearing method. The pressure pulse can dislodge glued joints or blow the line off the equipment connection, and the discharge end will eject water and debris forcefully.

Checking where the line terminates before firing, and ensuring nobody is at that end, prevents the predictable outcome.

Eye protection is appropriate, and the pan should be checked afterward for water that may have been forced backward.

Clearing restores flow but does not prevent recurrence. Treatment, adequate slope, and a correctly formed trap address the underlying cause.

Confirm the tool's fittings suit the drain lines encountered, keep spare cartridges available, and verify free drainage after clearing.
